Jersey Girl finally finds a little slice of heaven here in TN

Ok, so we have a lot of fly by night restaurants here in Johnson City. Especially those that claim to make pizza. I fondly call most pizza here "giant circles of garbage". Well today that has all changed. I am still in disbelief. I found the most awesome NY Style Pizza right here in Johnson City TN! Of course the owners are from Long Island. What is even funnier is that the one brother is the guy who built the house next to us. As that house was going up I swore it was being built by some guido from Little Ferry NJ. LOL I was RIGHT!!! I know my Italian mid century Hudson County architecture.



Ok, so back to the food.

Luke's Pizza
Well what can I say, there was so much oil on my slice that Alex asked why there was water on his pizza? LOL I said just hush up and eat it! Then I burned my gums on it! YAY, pizza burn!



For dessert we had a real live cannoli! Here is the conversation from the kid who ate cannoli's every week when he was 2 and hasn't had one since we moved here.


Alex: What is that white powder?

Mom: It is sugar, trust me you will love it.

Alex: What does that crunchy part taste like?

Mom: It taste like a cookie. Really it is the best dessert on the planet!

Alex: What does the inside taste like?

Mom: Like donut cream filling.

Alex: Hmmm, what are those black things?

Mom: Chocolate chips (as I now shove the last bite of mine in my mouth), just eat it already or I will!

Alex: (takes a bite) Yeah mom, you were right.

Mom: About what?

Alex: It is the best dessert on the planet.

Mom: I know sweetie, now I have yet one more excuse to be fat and happy! Wait till daddy finds out about this place!

Candy Addict...Intervention Needed!

So I took the photos of the kids and then they glue dotted the candy on them this afternoon. I set Jeff's 32 photos with Tootsie Rolls on them in a bag on the counter. Well, needless to say he broke into them and ate about 15 of them off the photos!!!! After this holiday all the candy will be removed from this house and burned in Beth's fire pit...
And whatever candy he brings home from school tomorrow is not even coming into the house.

Jeffrey's Valentines

YAY, got Jeff's done too.

Valentines for school...

So someone (Marj) gave me this great idea for Valentines. I am going to tape the piece of actual candy on to the photo and put them in a card. Alex loved this. He had great fun posing and even went and put his pink shirt on. Then he helped pick out the actions and fonts for the photo. I love the way it turned out! Thank goodness there are only 10 kids in his class!

Project 365 Week 4 - better late than never

So I have fallen behind with srapping these photos. I have taken them every day but I have been playing with paper scraps lately. All of my Project 365 layouts are in digital form. I plan to print a book at Shutterfly at the end of the year.

From Project 365

These are the days...

I scrapped this for a challenge over at SBO. It was an Anniversary Challenge.


The requirements were:

• Something old - photos
• Something new - supplies
• Something borrowed -sketch from my CK mag this month
• Something blue - paper (and that hideous sofa)

I had a lot of fun doing this since my cousin in the photo is getting married next Saturday.

I am not going to be able to make it to the wedding after all and thought I would send him my thought with this FABULOUS layout! Best wishes to you both and have a great wedding day!

What happened to this 10 lb bundle of joy? I spent the afternoon explaining to him (now 3yrs old) that he should not hit his brother. Who would have thought looking at that sweet sleeping baby he would turn into such a little monster???

Croppin again...

Spent the day Saturday at an all day crop. 14 hrs of scrappin...YAY! I had fun seeing lots of ladies that I haven't seen in a while. Lots of good food and talk. And I even got really creative! I was thrilled to use my new kits from Mosh Posh. The first two layouts are from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie kit they had for January.
