Old Friends and New Friends

My childhood buddies with our kids 20 yrs later(or 25 if we start counting from the day we all met). Julie, Colleen and I. Julie's daughter was hiding in the back...my Jeff was just hiding his eyes pretending to be invisible...and Colleen left her other 3 at home!

The Guazzo Curse

This is the photo I have been looking for for 5 yrs! I thought it was lost forever.

This was taken at the 2001 Virginia Tech Hall of Fame Banquet. The gentleman to the far left is our dear friend Ricardo Van Scales who was inducted into the hall of fame that day, and then you see the infamous Coach Frank Beamer of the VA Hokies...and then the CURSE. My Dear Husband shaking the hand of coach telling him he is a Pitt fan and we are going to beat them in a few weeks. Ever since that day Pitt beat VA Tech both home and away...they finally left the Big East to get away from the curse. Now I have proof!

Candy Fest 2007

Ok, so I am home alone here this week (DH is in NC).  I am being a cool mom and let the boys camp out in Jeff’s room.  He is in his new toddler bed so he keeps falling asleep on the floor.  Anyway, I am down in my scrap room/office and head up to go check up on them (or really go grab a beer).  I see that there is a loot bag of candy from a pirate party on the counter that was not there before (in fact it was hidden in an upper cabinet).  SOOOO I go to see if they are asleep and what do I find?

3 smarties wrappers

And a VERY sticky 19 month old with a happy smile.

 

I regret that I didn’t take a picture.  I was too busy making sure there were no lollipop (suckers for you southerners) sticks up anyone’s nose.  (we had an incident a few years ago)

 

Needless to say I kicked some ass and sent that 4 yr old mastermind to bed in his own room. 

 

Oh the joys of motherhood!  Whose idea was it to have these kids?

Dogwood Winter - Easter

We had a Dogwood Winter weekend as they call it here in the south. There was snow on Friday and Saturday but sunny and cold on Sunday. After brunch at a local restaurant we had our egg hunt in the backyard. The boys had fun and I had more fun watching them. Tony is off on a week long trip today to York PA and then to our old stomping ground in Delaware to visit his old co-workers. We are headed to VA to see the family at the end of the week. Hopefully the weather will get warmer.

Race Weekend

These were the boys while Aunt Lesley and Uncle Chris were at the race. They watched for at least an hour.

Easy Patterns - Scrapbooking

Easy Patterns - This is freaking AWESOME! I thought it would help me do some pages quickly and I was right. I did 4 pages, 2 tags, and a card all in one day (in between kids and life). This is more than I did in 6 mos. I still have to add journaling and some embellishments! This is the best $15 I ever spent. They don't have it available online anymore but I found it in my local scrapbook store and B&N too. This is a link to a freebie pattern on the site, and the link to the magazine is somewhere in the article I think.
