Babies and Boogies

Well we have had another busy month. August is finally OVER! Tony traveling to Tulsa, then all of us to NJ, we just got back from Virginia. I am glad it is over for at least a week or two. We are headed off to football travel next week!

In NJ we were able to meet all of the new babies born and spend some time with the babies born last year! Lots of new cousins lately. Then we went to Virginia to celebrate another new baby on his way in a few weeks.

Alex started school on Aug 15th and came home with a nasty infection and got everyone else sick. Jeffrey somehow avoided the worst of it. He has just been super boogery with teething.

I really need to fit this blog into my schedule some way. I just have a hard time finding the time to write with no interruptions.

Anywhoo! I am planning a birthday party for Jeffrey in October some time. We are still working on the date. I wish all of his relatives could come but he has plenty of friends here to attend. It will be a cute baby party.

I think it is feeding time at the zoo and I gotta go feed the monkeys...Ciao!

Virginia - Aunt Lesley's Birthday Feb 2006

We are wrapping up our trip to Virginia and heading home tomorrow. Alex has had a great time with his cousins like usual. He is still wired up and dancing around and they went home 2 hrs ago.

Friday night when we dropped them off he wanted to stay with them at their house, until of course Uncle Anthony told him it was nightly beating time...he told him to get on line and Alex said "No thank you, maybe tomorrow" and ran out the door.

Aunt Lesley had fun witnessing my sweet baby Jeffrey turn into baby-zilla. He is a master manuipulater. He cries like he is being stabbed to death and the minute you pick him up he just smiles and coos. It has been a long 4 days.

Alex woke up a few times in the night saying he missed his daddy and wanted to go back to TN. I told him that I missed my daddy and mommy and wanted to stay in VA. I am not sure he really gets it but it was a funny conversation.

Grandma Susan and Big Grandma had fun passing Jeffrey back and forth to each other as well. Grandma Shoplock (aka Big Grandma) was Alex's personal chef all weekend. She made him pancakes and eggs every morning from scratch. Christy made an appearance a few times and ran away from us after we told her we were all sick with colds.

We went to see Grandpa Steve and Pam on Saturday. That was the day Jeffrey was best behaved. I think he heard Grandpa gives out birthday cake and ice cream. Of course he couldn't enjoy it this year but Alex had a feast.

Sunday morning we headed for Lesley's birthday breakfast at Charley's Waterfront Cafe (next to Greenfront Furniture). The buffet was delicious. Alex ate 3 plates of french toast, eggs, bacon and 3 helpings of whipped cream. Uncle Chris and Aunt Lesley passed Jeffrey back and forth until he finally pooped! Then he went back to mommy.

Sunday afternoon we went back to Grandma's house and played computer games, played bingo, colored pictures and watched tv. Everyone is home now and we are getting ready to head home. I am tired but had a great time visiting my family.

I will post pictures when we get back. I have a jam packed short week with all the MOMS Club stuff I have to do so I am not sure how soon I will get the new pics online.

Welcome to Baby Brother Jeffrey

Well, Alex is finally a big brother. He has waited patiently for 9 months and is just thrilled to death over the arrival of Jeffrey.

Jeffrey weighed in at 10 lbs 4 oz and was 22 inches long. He shocked the operating room when he came out. They called UT while we were still on the table.

He is a little blondie and has the cutest little lips and ears. He never opens his eys so I have no clue what color they are yet. He sleeps and eats, sleeps then eats some more. Alex isn't that impressed.

Dogfood is being the mother hen. Peanut likes him better now that Aunt Lesley covered him in lotion (he likes to lick babies and lotion). Sassy is just wanting to sleep with Mommy again but Dogfood won't let her in the room.

Grandma Susan is being worn out by Alex, but is now enjoying baby Jeffrey since we came home 2 days earlier than expected. I just couldn't stand being alone in the hospital. It is way better to be home and comfortable. Aunt Lesley surprised us Friday night when we finally got home from the hospital. She wasn't supposed to come until a few weeks from now. She just can't resist babies!

Daddy and Alex went to the bar today to watch the Pitt game. Jeffrey and I stayed home and spent some quiet time together. Grandma and Aunt Lesley met Daddy and Alex at the bar to have lunch and bring Alex home. Pitt won, so it was a good day in our house.

That is it for now, I will try to post more often and keep you all up to date on the Guazzo Family Chronicles.

Baby Update

We are scheduled for the 19th at 10:30 am, unless he decides to come earlier on his own. Grandma Susan is coming down this week to help us keep Alex occupied while I rest for the last 8 days. Well, that is it for now...not much else going on these days.

ITCHY & Bitchy

Some of you may have heard about my new itching symptoms. The doctor took blood last week to test for Cholestasis. This is a relatively rare syndrome that results when the flow of bile from the liver is impaired. Bile is a fluid secreted by the liver that passes, via the bile duct, into the intestine where it is essential for the digestion of fats. The many causes of cholestasis produce different symptoms. I only have the itching so far!

FUN FUN FUN....the only cure is delivering baby early.

So with that said, we may have baby earlier than expected. I should know by Tuesday if they are going to want me in there early.
This will be a week to week thing. Every Friday they will be testing the blood to see if it is elevated and then deciding on Monday what to do. I am still scheduled for Oct 19th so it is a waiting game now!

Wish us luck.
