WOWZA! Look out HGTV...Here comes Sue's Speedy Decorating Show!

My mother has patiently waited to do any major cleaning or repainting for the last 4 1/2 yrs. It was my grandmother's house so changing anything without her approval was almost impossible.
Well since my grandma's passing, Sue has been a busy beaver. The first started in the garage and my grandfather's room (yes he has been dead 10 yrs and his stuff was still in there). Then after Thanksgiving they started gutting the main living area. I am overwhelmed by the progress they made in 4 weeks. New floors, new painted walls and ceilings, new cabinets, appliances, and man oh man that backsplash!

I am so happy for my mom to have this beautiful happy space to live in. We can't wait to visit! I will be having these layouts printed and framed for her.  Enjoy mama, you deserve it!

Gift cards galore!

So with so many nieces and nephews that live so far away, I sadly can't really "shop" for them for the holidays.  I wish we knew if they liked cars, trains, or which is their favorite princess but alas we don't see them often enough.  So we now just send gift cards.  Hopefully they will enjoy spending it with mom.   I always let my kids pick out their own stuff if they receive a card.  It helps them learn about money a little bit.  So this was my scrap table last night.  I got a lot done.  My older nieces I picked up cute clear ball ornaments from Bath & Body Works that I altered a bit.  I added a gift card in a personalized holder and swapped out the fragrance for the new "Twilight" scent they had.

Mosh Posh - Guest DT contest

So I entered my first design team contest. The kit club I belong to (www.moshposh.com which is AWESOME btw) has a contest going on for their June guest designer. If nothing else if forced me to do the layout of the First Grade Fiesta! LOL

• Contestants need to submit 1 layout and 1 other project, card, or layout (of any size)... its basically a wildcard and should showcase the designers style and creativity. The theme needs to revolve around "Celebration" (only one project needs to be celebration)
  

The first layout papers are Penny Lane by MME and it was the April Mosh Posh Kit. I used a sketch from Amie Igou's Running the Numbers class at the LSS Memory Lane. The second one (Best Friends) is a mix of lots of scraps. But some of the little doo dads in the upper left corner and the centers of the flowers are from a MP kit. Oh, so is the little arrow and the glitter letters. Hmmm...maybe those blue scraps are too?

Challenging March

So I got some scrappy mojo lately and thought I would share. I have been active on the SBO challenges this month. Also I have been creating my own challenges for the ladies at the local scrapbook store. We started a new online community for Memory Lane in Kingsport.
