There is a god....the cookie god!

Oh well, looks like I don't have to buy cookies after all. Sorry Lesley and girls. If I really want these now I have to get off my fat ass to make them.

Guess who we found today?

I felt like the news reporter in the movie Cars when they found lightening McQueen in Radiator "Stinks"! Flash bulbs, screaming and jumping for joy, it was crazy! Big hugs to Alexander who was initially searching for R2D2 (the Clone Wars version) so he could entice the real R2 out of Jeffrey's hands he found Ryan Newman buried in the bottom of the box I HAVE SEARCHED IN SEVERAL TIMES!
This makes me wonder...I think I need to call CSI for this one. My sister (and Collin) were just visiting and stayed in Jeff's room. Do you think maybe she planted it? Just to torture me for 3 months? It could happen! Well however he came back to us we are thrilled to have him back.

Arts & Craps

My sister came for a visit this past weekend and brought oodles of pictures to scrap for her hallway wall. She purchased those cute 12x12 frames at Mike's to hang them in. Her girls helped us do them. They wound up getting about 12 pages done and I did only 3! I felt like I was conducting a preschool arts & craps (crafts for those who don't speak Jeffese). Here are mine.

This is photos of my nephew Justin (now 14 yrs old). He loved my dad's hats and always played with them. The die cut I used my Silhouette to make. Also the letters I cut on it.

This is my DH playing with Justin and Ashley the first time we went to visit Macayla in 1998.

And this is Macayla and Collin with Santa in '07 & '08. My first page with my new Mosh Posh kits.

Water Ice?

Ok, so it may taste delicious but the name is just stupid! I am curious to see what TN folks call it but in Philly/Delaware area they called it water ice. My question has always been "what other kind of ice is there?"
There has been another term I just can't stand here in the south...ink pen! I asked a bunch of ladies here at a school function one time what an ink pen was compared to just a pen I was politely told it could be a cage for an animal. Now I can buy that since we have farms around us.
But water ice? Still not buyin' it!
But I might take the kids to the new store for what I call "Italian ice". Come and visit for yourself you will be sure to enjoy this northern delicacy I promise.

Project 365 Week 3

Finally scrapped this one tonight. It was just random images this past week. Nothing really to "journal" about.
Enjoy!

There is hope after all

I just can't believe that I watched an African American get sworn in as President of these United States! I am overjoyed with hope. Now if only the South would get off their high horses and join the rest of the educated world.
My faith in humanity (not god) has been given new hope. God will never help those that don't accept everyone on this planet. If you live in this country you might want to rethink your teachings in religion and accept all humans and our US Constitution.

As for my favorite part of Obama's speech, here it is...
  • For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus -- and nonbelievers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.

Favorite Magazine...one of my SBO Sistas on the COVER!!!!

BIG shout out to Jamie Harper. She is one of my "cyber friends" on a few message boards for scrapbooking. I am highly impressed with her work.
Another one of my other "cyber friends" Noel made it to the "another take on the cover" this issue.

A New iPhone application that Dora and Diego could use...

A plug for an old friend.
Ok, so I think this is clever but I really don't know how bad the crime is where I travel. Our 'hood' has a really nice park in it. I am afraid I won't be needing this app but maybe some of my traveling friends could.
My friend Jason wants all iPhone and iPod touch owners out there to check out the iPhone application he's been working on. It's launched! http://www.lethalapp.com

Project 365 - Week two

From Project 365

Day 8: Jeffrey playing with Rescue Heros. My big score of toys at the Goodwill store a few years ago.
Day 9:Monday we started off the week with a trip to the new supermarket, Earth Fare. It was freaking awesome! Of course the kids made me nuts and I couldn’t finish the shopping.
Day 10: Jeffrey played Star Wars on PS2 by himself all afternoon while Alex was at Gracie’s house.
Day 11: Game night with the family. We played Bingo and a game of Disney Monopoly.
Alex cleaned up in Monopoly. Jeffrey loved Bingo, Dad won that game. We hope to do this once a week from now on.
Day 12: My contribution to the Ashely Academy benefit auction, invitations. Round 1.
Day 13: Tony (at 1am) feeling very proud that he didn’t crush some dumb*ss redneck at the bar. He is finally growing up!
Day 14: Putting Christmas away!

Project 365 - Week One

From Project 365

Journaling:
Day 1: On my first day of this project I got my hair cut. I think it turned out great, however
I never keep up the cut. Maybe this year I will.
Day 2 the boys dressed in their Rutgers gear to watch the bowl game. They did win the game.
Day 3 We took grandma and grandpa to Fun Expedition for some games and batting cages.
Day 4: The boys, grandpa, grandma and I went to Bristol Speedway in Lights. They all
enjoyed it.
Day 5: Dad watched lots of football this week.
Day 6: My very messy desk that I need to clean so I can scrap!
Day 7: After the Guazzos left I put up these shelves to house
our winter coats and shoes. It is right inside the garage.

This should be a very fun project to complete. I WILL FINISH IT!

WEEK ONE IS DONE!

More invite comps

So they liked the clock/time idea but not the layout...so the winner is a combo of both the kids jumping rainbow and time theme. I am pleased.

Now to see if they like it mixed together. I did two different borders on them. I like the blue one better.

Auction time at Ashley Academy

So Beth Peterson roped me in to helping this year...just kidding, I volunteered willingly.

I have been asked to come up with an invitation for the event. These are my first ideas. I am hoping they like one of them. Without too many details on how the "event" is going to be planned these are all over the place.

I personally like the "time" one and the last one with the kids/rainbow colors.

We will see what everyone on the board likes. Hopefully ASAP so they can go to print within a week. I would love feedback of any kind as I am just getting back into this type of stuff to see if I can actually go back to work someday! LOL

Project 365...

So here is how it goes. Take a picture a day and document each one for a full year. Wish me luck. I will post weekly as I put pages together.

It is Resolution Time again and I normally don't even make any. Most people just fall within a month so I never bothered. This year I am going to do it and see what happens. LOL

Resolution #1 - Digi scrap more (keep up with Project 365)
Resolution #2 - Get more active (we will keep that one non-committal)
Resolution #3 - Spend more quality time with the kids
Resolution #4 - Spend more quality time with DH.
Resolution #5 - Spend less time on the computer (wait doesn't that conflict with #1?)
Resolution #6 - Read more books and less blogs.
Resolution #7 - Finish painting the house in 2009.
Resolution #8 - Get more green (start recycling)
Resolution #9 - Go to a weekend crop retreat far away from home for the first time.
Resolution #10- TURN 40 and not drive off a bridge!

Not all bad, most are fun so I should keep most of them!
Happy New Year everyone.
